Unbelievable? No, not any longer – and that’s the worst part of it, that we all have become immune to these daily scandals committed by Labour governments.

Why is it that it’s always a Nationalist government that ends up having to pick up the pieces and restore law, order and standards? This time round it’s going to be a much harder task as so many Maltese are becoming contaminated by this culture of corruption, arrogance and “u ejja” attitude.

So, let’s get to the bottom of this, Gorg. If you really care about this issue, let us hear you say you will NOT vote for the party that will not knock down this development within two months of gaining power and fire all MEPA big brass. I am calling this Public Demand #001. Will you subscribe to it or is yours just a lot of hot air?

Let’s start to not care about what Musumeci or any other important personality thinks about this, that and the other. Without meaning to be egoistic, let’s start to care first and foremost about what we — Tom. Dick, Mary, Chloe and Harry — think. If we think this is not acceptable, let’s turn it into a demand we make for the next general elections.

The party who promises to annihilate this development, which we, the electorate, consider outrageous, will get our vote. Others may go and seek their vote elsewhere.

So, let us have it Peter Sanga: Let us hear you say you will not vote for any party that does not promise to demolish this development and fire MEPA big brass within two months of gaining power.

That’s what I will do. And you?

In this case, the case officer seems to have been of the latter category and they may now go home and be at peace with their conscience. May they and their family enjoy a joyful Christmas knowing that they have done their duty. They deserve our gratitude.

As for us, having a decent civil servant do their duty is not nearly enough to stop the barbarians at the gate intent on pillaging what belongs to us all. So, we must act, which means going beyond expressing our frustration on social or other media.

Those who disagree with this MEPA decision are invited to vote only for the party that proposes the demolition of this development and the removal of all MEPA high-level staff (Chairman, CEO, etc.) and their banishment from public service, with one exception — scavenging… all within two months of gaining power.

Let me call this Popular Demand #001 or PD001 (the two “00” before the “1” augur for a few hundreds of such demands before we get to another general election).

All other parties may seek votes elsewhere.
