Now you have the court sentence you asked for. Loosely translated, it says of Moggi, that he was the man behind the illicit system aimed at influencing the outcome of football matches of the 2004-2005 season (and not only those)… a system that was known by his name [i.e. Sistema Moggi].

Note, this is not just one or two rigged games, which would have been bad enough, but a full-fledged, well-oiled SYSTEM of game-rigging. It was named after Moggi. It’s like the bowler hat being named after Thomas and William Bowler, except that the Sistema Moggi was not intended to cover one’s head but one’s maleficence.

Now, as to the whys and wherefores of this court sentence, you can postulate as many theories and hypotheses as you’d wish. Given that there are those who postulate that the Holocaust was all a propaganda stunt, we’re not going to be surprised if you claim that the mafia-like Moggi scam was all the fruit of a propaganda effort.

With regards to the last paragraph, yes Moggi was being illegally tapped by Telecom, at the time owned by Marco Tronchetti Provera, who happened to be also a director of Internazionale F.C., a major competitor of Juventus. Later on, Moggi bought out of his own money the cd’s containing the cluttered phone calls and with the help of a software person, managed to extract and expose many phone calls by other football clubs’ personalities, including Internazionale F.C. referee connections, which remains unpunished to this day.

That said, those who followed the case know that this was done with the blessing of Juventus new owner John Elkann following the death of Umberto Agnelli.

+ Moggi locked referee Paparesta in the dressing room when this was already stated as “never happened” by the Reggio Calabria courts and even denied by Paparesta himself, besides the fact that the Granillo stadium dressing rooms can’t be locked from outside.

+ Juve vs Udinese was directed by the only referee found guilty (De Santis) when in fact it was actually directed by Rodomonti.

To note that besides De Santis being the only referee found guilty (now that’s how to organise match fixing, by involving only one referee!!), he was found so for the games Lecce vs Parma and Fiorentina vs Bologna, but for no Juventus game! To add insult to injury, Juventus made the least points with De Santis directing their games!

I am attaching the comments made by Dr DiPietro (ex Publico Ministero, well known, especially for being the master mind of Mani Pulite investigations) who is also a Juventus supporter, and he himself very clearly states that Moggi was freed from the original prison sentence on time-barred evidence.

If Moggi was so positive and concrete on his position he should have renounced to the time-barred execution. I can state more but as already suggested the topic is corruption and not football as on the latter then I would need lots of pages as to what this person did to Italian football.

I sincerely hope that he will not try to be involved in the Maltese football scene. The Malta Football Association, please take heed.
