‘American’ refers to the course curriculums and teaching methods. It’s like ‘American school’.

Scicluna turned them down because he couldn’t legally consider a request for university accreditation, except from an institute of higher education. The accreditation will come but ‘as a second step.’ This is just a hiccup in the process.

It was a clear non-starter since only ‘institutes of higher education,’ who presumably have a long track record of quality education in their selected field/s, could apply for university status.

It was mind boggling to hear everyone, including the Opposition, with the exception of Commodini Cachia, refer to this sham as a ‘university’.

However, when it came to the crunch, Martin Scicluna must have balked and pointed out that, legally, he and his committee cannot even consider an application from the Jordanian developer for accreditation as a university.

So now Mr. Al-Salah is setting up an ‘institute for higher education’, as, in Scicluna’s own words (more or less,) ‘a first step towards becoming a university’.

It will be interesting to see how long this next step will take and what sort of ‘track record’ will Scicluna and his committee expect before dishing out the ‘university’ accreditation.

No, Daphne, Mr. Din L-Art Helwa was party to this scam.

So he may have turned it down and what is it he’ll do now – condemn the land transfer?

Is he wrong?

Why is Hani Hasan Naji Al Salah given pristine land in a very attractive part of the island and is given a kickstart to his business and I had to do everything on my own at my own risk?

People are still afraid of what Labour might do to them. Vendetta and all that.

It’s just the norm for a lateral thought process applied without any (positive) values attached.
