The Opposition should not permit itself to be drawn into Muscat’s trap.

I’m afraid that like Putin, Erdogan and Aliyev, his only interest in changing the Constitution is to increase his powers and render our democracy even weaker and more dysfunctional than it already is.

The man can’t be trusted.

What we need is for democracy to be restored, and not a new Constitution.

Dom Mintoff, much before Joseph Muscat, found that way and it is hoped that parliament would never again knuckle under to that kind of blackmail again.

It was a kind of a Mafia style “offer that could not be refused” namely you approve my “neutrality” amendment to the Constitution and I will magnanimously return to the Maltese people the democratic right to rule according to the will of the majority that I have been denying them.
