I will not suggest your reasoning is flawed same as you did, I respect your opinion and thank you for voting as if everyone did not vote like I did there would have been a phenomenal crisis.

My point of view was and still is, that my vote shows approval of the party I was to vote for. I approved of neither and did not vote.

Favouring a Nationalist Party win in 2013 is not simplistic at all. It is exactly how elections work. It is arithmetic.

In order to keep Labour from power, we must have someone else voted into power. The only someone else that can form a government is the Nationalist Party. QED and end of story.

I suppose you’re one of those who think that those who voted Labour in 2013 were “in their right mind”. Or that “twenty-five years in Opposition” (their words) inspired a jettisoning of corruption and corrupt people in Labour.

You make the mistake of thinking that because First Past the Post is simple, then it is simplistic.

I so disagree with you. The damage wrought in these five years will be next to impossible to rectify. The Gonzi government was weak and tired and, more pertinently, beleaguered by egomaniacs and their demands. But it was not actively corrupt or deliberately entering into deals to the advantage of its members and cronies as a matter of policy, or putting thousands of people on the state payroll. What exactly do you believe will be the consequences of what is happening now – all those thousands of people on the public payroll, the corrupt deals with permanent effects (the power station being one example), the hospital privatisation, the pay-outs to cronies, the sale of citizenship, the tens of thousands of visas and residence permits to third-country nationals? Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas to escape the noise of the farmyard.
