This is the silliest accusation ever.”

In Maltese culture, things are not dismissed because they are silly. In fact, they are not dismissed at all.

I too agree with Norman Vella’s point, but the reason for keeping the driver should not be the “strong defence” of anything. To defend is to acknowledge the accusation. Here, the accusation is baseless.

The government, Dire Straits, would have been made to look petty and bumbling if it had been dismissed as silly. But it was not. The concept does not exist in Maltese.

We must learn English ways if we are ever to get rid of the scourge of #Labour #i.
