I don’t think Muscat shares his thought patterns – at least the ones we hear in public – with the majority. He speaks of geopolitics as if he were The International Statesman. That’s something that’s never done by any Nationalist politician. Guido Demarco tried it, but it was just about Palestine. They usually limit their discourse and name-dropping to domestic stuff.

I also think they have no clear idea of how they would like the world to be, beyond Malta. Joseph Muscat does. Which is not to say that his objective is the good one, or the one in the national interest. But his dealings with China, Azerbaijan and Libya, together with his contacts starting from 2003, have given him a taste for the big game with the big boys. And it plays well with his domestic audience. Makes him look more like a modern Mintoff.

It’s times like these I wish I could interview Joseph Muscat and Simon Busuttil. Then I could put our different interpretations to the test.

On the subject of Simon Busuttil’s thought patterns, it’s a shame he never gets asked anything but stupid and dumb questions. Including by his own party’s journalists. It’s embarrassing.

He tells THEM exactly what THEY want to hear so that HE gets what HE wants.

This is not about Maltese or non-Maltese. It is not even about communication. It is about manipulation – from the micro (Romanian stripper/gullible fat old Maltese lawyer) to the macro (Adolf Hitler/the German people).

One wonders whether you bear the audacity to communicate a similar speech today after all the filth and corruption we’ve witnessed in just under three years.

To stress the point, compare and contrast to the first three years under any Nationalist government.
