In reply to Natalie. I believe you're right in saying it's a meteor. Or it could be a comet. Nonetheless, "shooting stars" do not stay in the sky at all, I'm afraid. "Shooting star" is the idiomatic expression for meteor. (Apologies for the nauseating pedantry. I hope Baxxter smothers it with another bit of humour of his.)

It’s not as if these “rather silly” stories are taking the space of more serious and sensible ones, are they?

After all, what is it that draws you to these parts? Is not the fact that you do indeed see “more serious and sensible” stories which either do not feature anywhere else in the Maltese media or at best crop up weeks later?

Then again, if there’s any story you don’t fancy reading, there’s always the Next button.
