One would have expected the bank to ask the shareholders to provide a personal guarantee in such a scenario. It is probably why they didn’t get the loan from HSBC or BOV in the first place. Bloody reckless of Banif – and we pay.

Even if the deal was made to assist Banif, it still benefitted Mario Camilleri and the Curmis at the taxpayer’s expense and was totally not justifiable.

I wonder how much that (nearly) 22″ of propaganda cost us? Getting a baby grand piano onto a cliff and then onto Fort Saint Angelo’s bastions must have cost a fair bob. Not to mention all the various musicians and actors.

Compare it with Angela Merkel’s 6″ sober message which focuses on what is going on in the world and how Germany is contributing.

Right there is the difference between a prime minister who is no more than a salesman (allura hadtu l-benefit tal-ferst time buyers) and at best a local councillor to one who is truly a statesperson.
