Yes, young man (I presume you are young because you declare you are waiting on the day you become an “old man”, and I presume you are male because by your own declaration your wait will lead to you becoming an “old man”) there are still a lot of exciting things in life, whether you are young or old, and we (or at least I) thank God (and not Pinker or anyone else) for that.

Nonetheless, admitting such does nothing to diminish the superficiality of certain appreciations of life which purport to pass for some philosophical analysis. I will not say which appreciations I refer to, as it is not my intention to offend but merely to comment.
