And I feel like I need to add a disclaimer, that I cannot stand this One tv mentality-the people who watch it and the people who work for the station.
But think of it this way. It’s a staff room at any place of work. A bunch of workers are in there for lunch or on a break and there’s a tv in the room.
“Ara, what’s on…this is really boring, ta. I saw it yesterday. You mind I change it?”
“No, no, I don’t care, I’m going to read anyway”
“it’s ok, I’m almost back to work anyway”
“Imma, you, do you mind I put on something Maltese ghax you don’t understand”
“No, no ok, I’m reading my news from home anyway on my phone”.
“Super One, ok? These two are so funny!”
“U ejja, funny! They’re idiots. You watch that rubbish, really”
“Ija, I know. But maybe I call them and I win a prize. And my break is almost over so better I call quick. You mind? And I tell them we are at XXXXX and maybe they say hello to everybody here”
“ok, ok, at least we laugh a bit”
Call done, break over, somebody else comes in and changes the channel to Net Tv.
Nowhere is it insinuated that One Tv is kept on all over the hospital. If it is, then it’s a different story……and I’ll have another scenario for that.
