Oh come on. How often does that happen – and shouldn’t people old enough to have parents who are pensioners be expected to stand on their own feet?

More to the point, should they be turning for money to their parents who have even less? So parents on a pension feel they have to help out their adult offspring because they’ve lost their investments.

Ma nafx. I’m thinking it should be the other way round. Or maybe it’s what happens when people start having children when they should be having grandchildren. When I hit my 60s my sons will be in their 40s. They would probably die rather than ask me for money at that stage. I mean, honestly. There’s a lot to be said for adjusting to your circumstances.

Yes Robert, I agree with your impeccable logic. There is hunger and atrocities in Darfur. So we should ignore the abysmal standards of your new BFFs (and yours too) and thank our lucky stars.

It’s good that people like Musumeci, Pullicino Orlando, Franco Debono and the rest realised that their abysmal standards are closer to Labour and shoved off all by themselves. The’ve settled down wonderfully.
