I said that tall men in Malta are 5’8″. I know this for a fact, because as a woman who is around 5’8″, I am acutely (though no longer awkwardly) aware that most men in this country are shorter than I am and that the ‘tall’ ones are my height. So there is obviously no way on earth that Grech can be 5’8″. He’s probably 5’4″.

I can’t resist taking you up on one point, though. “About 5’8″ ” – it never ceases to amaze me how so many Maltese people are unable to calculate height by a simple commonsense assessment. Do you know that Maltese men who are considered to be tall are 5’8″? I don’t think I’m even 5’8″ myself.
