It’s the Prime Minister’s traditional New Year message, Malteser. The TV station on which it is broadcast is irrelevant. The only context that counts is what the message is: the traditional New Year message, generally delivered from the Prime Minister’s office or similar.

Democracy is continuous and not a vote every five years. The fact that a government has been democratically elected does not mean the electorate has to tolerate and put up with everything it does. On the contrary – a government should be challenged, questioned and held to account every step of the way. THAT’S democracy.
