One additional factor that has so far been ignored in these comments is that drug abusers are prone to suffer from depression that is a frequent predisposing factor to suicide and that depression could be either the cause or the result of drug abuse.

Speaking from experience, I am not surprised. When disgraced former EU commissioner John Dalli falsely accused me, the way I was treated when I was in police custody was appalling.

The problem is if anyone starts proceedings against the police because of ill treatment the plaintiff rarely wins the case.
In view of these deaths WHY HASN’T THE POLICE COMMISSIONER RESIGNED?

Go and tell that to the family of Nicholas Azzopardi who claimed moments before his death that he had been severely beaten in police custody.

Politicians seem reluctant to reform the police.
