And companies incorporated in Panama are not even required to keep accounts. So there will never be any independent verification of any statement of the affairs of this Panama company.

Also, Konrad Mizzi never declared his wife’s assets in his declarations. He didn’t do it for 2012, he didn’t for 2013 (and when confronted had said that he wasn’t asked to do so) and he obviously didn’t for 2014 when the obligation to do so was conveniently removed.

But we are supposed to believe that for 2015, after going through great lengths to have such a secretive and complex setup with his wife and children as beneficiaries, he was going to change his usual practice and declare the “non-existing-assets-that-are-not-in-his-name”.

Yeah right, pull the other one.

One more thing, for 2012 he filled and submitted his declaration in June 13; for 2013 he was one of the last to submit his declaration and did so past the deadline round about mid May if I’m not mistaken; for 2014 the declarations were tabled in parliament in June 2015 (he dated his declaration March 2014 which means the year was clearly wrong and therefore he probably invented the month too)

But this time, serendipitously he prepared it months in advance (weeks ago addiritura, at least that’s what muscat said)

I have just switched onto TVM and in the true mark of a democracy with a programme which gives voice to the common man, I found Xarabank, relentlessly asking questions of Konrad Mizzi and Joseph Muscat.

The man in the street is being avenged. The Labour government is being told that all the badgering and the relatively petty issues which Xarabank pushed for it pre-election in order to swing public opinion cannot now give way to so many shades of corruption and dealings with countries we would never want to emulate or give power over us to.

But wait, no, I had dozed off and that was all a dream.

What Xarabank is actually showing is how people are hypnotized to make them love reptiles, one guy previously partial to snakes, now touching them and finding them beautiful, another guy embracing a lizard.

Ironic.

Muscat sees no problem in Mizzi’s behaviour, because Muscat himself is the root of it all. All the non-verbals between the two reveal an asymmetrical relationship, with Muscat being in control of Mizzi all along.

Perhaps the answer is really that Konrad Mizzi set up a second set of trusts and accounts at the same time as he did his own.
