We have NOT had the same under Nationalist governments. That is a shocking assertion.

So what is your solution – that we all do the same, and nobody votes in the general elections? People who think clearly reason this way: we are going to get a government whether we vote or not, so it makes sense to choose the best people to govern.

And by best, I do not necessarily mean the most competent, but the best in character. When people are of good character, you can’t go wrong. But when they are of bad character, all the good electoral manifestos and policies in the world will save the electorate from gross abuse of the nature we are seeing now.

The more I follow politics, the more dead set I am on not giving my heads up to any political party. We’ve had rampant corruption under MLP, we’ve had the same under PN. We’re at it again under the current PL government and we will have it again under whichever government we’ll have in the future and the blame falls squarely on these diehards “genuine” voters because until the people keep voting for these con-men and close an eye for their wrongdoings, we’ll keep getting the same shit only from different ass***es!

For a start, the idiom is wrong. ‘Laburisti genwini’ does not translate into ‘genuine Labourites’ but ‘true Labourites’. You can’t, in English, have a genuine person because ‘genuine’ means real, as in genuine leather, and all people are by definition real.

They need to be told to stop it. Bad English doesn’t win elections in the switcher category. I have yet to meet somebody I know who says, in conversation, ‘genuine Labourite’.

I expect him to do the honourable thing and vote PN next time.
