No. Mizzi felt he had to release the ‘New Zealand’ news himself because he realised that I knew and he was afraid I was planning to release it on the day of his election. I wasn’t planning to release it at all, because there was more information I needed and don’t yet have. So I tried to get Konrad Mizzi to do it for me, and he obliged.

I believe Muscat is as deep in this scandal as Mizzi is. No doubt. Muscat knows that if Mizzi falls, he will fall with him. So he is protecting him and at the same time, protecting himself in being exposed in this scandal.

Coming to think of it, Muscat is in the habit of finding others to take the fall for him. I believe he encouraged Mizzi to hand this “scoop” to Malta Today, so that public attention is shifted away from the Prime Minister.

Yet, it backfired. Muscat is lying through his teeth and doing everything to protect Mizzi.
