The lack of shame, the lack of social empathy displayed by these people is only shown by criminals or victims of lobotomies, whose brains are wired not to feel any form of guilt or shame.

Politicians like these would rob millions from their own people who lie destitute or in starvation. The malaise is deep indeed.

In reply to Nemusa. Again, this is not about the national coffers. To give you a comparable example: people who make money from drug-trafficking and launder the proceeds are not "cheating the national coffers" or evading tax. The nature of the crime is different. Laundering money from corruption, bribery, 'gifts' and kickbacks is a serious crime for anybody; for a government minister it carries a higher penalty because the offence is graver.

Konrad Mizzi’s tall tales remind me of the tactics used by a cheating, scheming, conniving and untrustworthy husband to stop his long-suffering wife from getting to the bottom of where the money is going to or coming from. In this case, it is not the wife that is getting shafted, but the national coffers.

This is as question of plausibility. Why on earth would a Cabinet minister have a Panamanian company other than for hiding ill-gotten gains?
