Goodness, this is becoming IMPOSSIBLE. Konrad Mizzi’s declaration of assets in parliament shows he DOES NOT have money, whether made in London or elsewhere.

I mean, how on earth can you keep on speculating about money made in London and ‘giving him the benefit of the doubt’ when you know FOR A FACT that there he hasn’t any because those kinds of earnings are legal and taxed and there is no need to keep them out of your asset declaration.

He has 310,000 euros in the bank and 320,000 in bank loans. Full stop.

My gut feeling is that Konrad is hiding Joseph’s cuts and kickbacks from all the wheeling and dealing they have done together. It will then be a split 60/40 . The two will vanish the day they lose power and reappear in Venezuela.

There isn’t much to say about such a stroy except that it would automatically be very actionable from a prime minister’s or party’s point of view. None of that over here. But, the people in the street are very unaware of how this case would be several cuts above the ‘fuel procurment scandal’.

These are the facts available so far.

1. Konrad Mizzi was registered as living in London at a flat in the Oxygen building. When you move to London, you have to register as living there. That information, including your address, when you registered and when you left, becomes public. Each time you move, you have to re-register at your new address, and this becomes public too. He was registered at the Oxygen building flat for all the years he was in London. He was registered elsewhere in England before that.

2. The London flat was marked as empty on the same London public information site for the period between Mizzi’s moving to Malta in 2012 and last year.

3. The flat was then sold in March last year for GBP550,000 and is registered under a new name.

4. In his declaration to parliament for 2014, made in June last year, Mizzi does not list the Oxygen flat in London, though he still owned it in the year under review but a house with garage in London. He is still talking about this house and saying that it is his asset.

You have always been a superb investigative journalist, smelling out and filling out stories people wanted to keep out of the news. But this is truly superlative.

If this was the US you would be in the running for a Pulitzer prize. You do more for democracy in Malta than all the other journalists combined, and more than any collection of think-tanks could. Big respect!
