In reply to Anthony Farrugia. A good communicator presents his subject matter in a way that informs, educates and entertains. David Thake succeeds on all three levels. This broadcast explained in a way that anyone can understand exactly what the current Konrad Mizzi scandal is all about.

His language and accent are one of the main reasons he has brought in a whole new audience for his show. People like me prefer listening to a familiar accent and familiar choice of words. And there are very, very many people like me. I get bored, tired, fed-up and totally alienated listening to the accents and voices and terminology used by the usual ‘Maltin’ on radio. Can’t relate at all. There’s a great chunk of society out here who just isn’t represented at all in the media.

David Thake does influence public opinion and highlights current important issues, but he really sounds like a ranting old man in some każin at times, no offence.

Maybe it’s just me, but I cannot stand those kind of tones and ways of speaking so maybe that is what you meant when you said that he is trash?

Ever noticed the difference between Joseph Muscat and SImon Busuttil? The former sounds like he is about to lead an army of peasants with pitchforks ready to storm a castle and the latter sounds like a proper statesman should.

Voice, tone and way of speaking are important too.

In reply to Anthony Farrugia. No. A good communicator knows his audience, his medium and his subject matter, and engages with them all. David Thake most certainly does not preach to the converted. Everywhere I go between four-thirty and six, where somebody is working alone (shop, workshop, office) I find the radio tuned to 101.
