Don’t worry. They forgot that the swing vote came from people like me, former Nationalists, who were fooled into thinking that Muscat will lead with less arrogance and less corruption. How wrong we were.

After this scandal I am ready to vote in Simon Busuttil regardless of how ready his party is. They can NOT be worse than these crooks and they can only be better.

I agree that their position is completely untenable, Daphne. However they don’t see it this way because they are villians who don’t abide by any type of moral standards.

So the only way they are finished is if they are made to go. And right now I don’t see how that can actually happen.

Konrad Mizzi has produced two scraps of paper purporting to show that his company holds no assets. But there is no way that they can be verified.

Likewise, when Muscat says that there’s no problem because Mizzi will “declare everything”, we cannot know that what he’s declaring is the truth. It’s not as if Konrad Mizzi has never lied to us before.

The Commissioner for Revenue should make a clear public statement that it is impossible for him to verify Mizzi’s statements about what he holds or doesn’t hold in Panama or elsewhere.

First, because since the Panama Company is now owned by a New Zealand trust it technically does not belong to Mizzi any more; secondly, even if it did, Panama would not divulge any information; third, even if somehow it can be proven that Mizzi has zero assets in the company and the trust, how can we be sure that a major payment from, well, you take a guess, is not made into the trust the next day.
