I fully appreciate the role that Ms Caruana Galizia is playing and that is why in my retirement, and well into my 80s, I make the odd contribution to her “Running Commentary”, as well to other media, under my name.

I used my period of unemployment to write, under my own name, criticising the administration that made me abandon my career. I do not expect everybody to take such a step, but if we are all cowed into submission, the oppressors will have a field day.

The reason we need the Nationalist Party (the Opposition doesn’t fight elections) to win is precisely BECAUSE these things happen. Otherwise it wouldn’t be an issue. The reason I want the Nationalist Party to win isn’t because it’s my favourite football team or kazin tal-banda.

You may be out of context. Of course it isn’t funny and I never said it was. I love the fact, though, that moments like these give you greater strength to fight back and go further.

And yes, I certainly would like to see more of these bullying tactics, quite frankly. It’s what wins the Opposition elections.

I have a feeling that the master spy in tracing the new ‘spies’ is Mario Cutajar who has been placed in his position as Head of the Civil Service with a political mission. Let’s not forget his blind militancy during the Mintoff fiefdom.
This may also account for his trip with the Prime Minister and the talk of apps. Poor Malta.
