In reply to John Vella. She only asked not to be considered after it was crystal clear that there was no way she would be sworn in, as the nomination is in breach of the Constitution. We have to keep an eye on her - they're likely to compensate her in some other way.

Dr Young does not want to be considered, we need to dig deeper as I don’t believe she gave this away. I believe she was asked to relinquish the post, not to humiliate herself.

That he is a friend of many Labour cronies is, in my opinion, not enough for her to be appointed as magistrate. There must be some other reason of which we are not aware.
