It would be interesting to know in what section of Air Malta he worked. The procurement section and Air Supplies, which was the Air Malta arm for duty free supplies, were notoriously known for commission malpractices.

This is the land of the God Commission. Everybody takes a cut or an “introduction fee” on everything. So when certain politicians get into power and find themselves making deals and decisions for the country, they think it’s normal to take a cut too – except that they understand how a lot of people won’t think it’s normal, so they hide the cuts with shell companies in Panama.

The question is a hopelessly misleading dud anyway. They’re not investments. You don’t “invest” in a shell company in Panama and a trust to hold it, set up in New Zealand.

In reply to Mike Vella. Well, it cannot be from hers either. Inheritance is never the communal property of spouses. It is a special exemption to the community of acquests. Anything she inherits (a couple of chopsticks?) is hers alone, and anything he inherits (house in Swieqi, shared with his sister) is his alone.

Can we stop it with this myth about her father? Get a grip, all of you. The daughters of supposed powerful Chinese millionaires do not marry the low-level corporate-drone sons of Air Malta employees and move into small flats in Fgura, Malta. Not even the daughter of a MALTESE millionaire would have married him and moved into a small flat in Fgura.

I despair at times. People have no sense in working out the basics.

Does New Zealand allow trust funds to be used for money laundering? Perhaps the New Zealand Financial Markers Authority should be asked to investigate.

He used to work for Enemalta before going to London. If I’m not mistaken he was involved in the IUBS process. I don’t know, but maybe he was already trying it out back then.
