The names of all who acquire citizenship, however they do so, should be published under the law. But we have no way of knowing whether they are. And quite frankly, trust has gone.

A lot seems to take place in a few minutes when it comes to Muscat – just look at the way he handed over Zonqor Point to that Jordanian building magnate in “five minutes on the way to Spain”.

I am beginning to think that he originally applied under the ‘sale of citizenship’ scheme but then was given his citizenship ex officio at the Minister’s discretion instead, as with Mrs Manuel Mallia.
