Did that when he appeared on the scene. And his doctoral thesis is a fraud. It is obvious it was written for him.
If he has no idea of what Panama is known for, that makes him naive or perfectly stupid.

In reply to Mike. When you do an investigation you take nothing for granted. Otherwise you are in the wrong business. Somewhere there will be a paper trail, phone call, a text, a wrong transaction or even a message copied to the wrong person. This is not a crime novel and mistakes happen. There are gaps in declarations, a hidden company shows out of the blue although there were indications with all the secrecy on signed contracts with some of the worst dictatorships.

In reply to J. Vella. May? His two clients there are politically exposed persons (PEPs) under the law. He cannot set up companies in Panama for them without reporting the matter. That is in itself a crime, even if the companies hold nothing, let alone when they do.

All this talk about €92 or €92 million is really beside the point. The fact remains that even if he has not a single cent in the structure he set up, the act of registering or buying a company in Panama and then hiding it in a New Zealand trust is enough to damn him.

His position as a government minister of an EU member state makes his position untenable. Joseph Muscat by his support of this renders his own position similarly untenable.

Konrad Mizzi is a fast worker.

Today at 11:30: The Malta Independent reports that Konrad Mizzi is to pay a fine for breaching the tax law.

Today at 11:37: Times of Malta reports Muscat as saying that Konrad Mizzi has paid his fine.
That was quick. All in seven minutes.
