Muscat claimed “he had saved the economy, saved Enemalta and saved the banks from collapse”

Lo and behold, Another Malta Labour Party “salvatur” has come down from heaven in our lifetime to save us. Votive candles and bunches of flowers in jam-jars before his effigy are in order once more.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said last year that the conditions for the 80 million-euro guarantee for the power station financing could not be revealed “because it would cause irreparable damage to the economy”.

Did he know something then already? Today the Central Bank’s answer to The Malta Independent’s question on how the prime minister “saved the banks”, clearly written by Alfred Mifsud, is that the banks were heavily exposed the Enemalta’s debts. He conveniently forgot to mention that now they are heavily exposed to Electrogas Malta.

In reply to Makjavel. Edward Scicluna has two options. He either resigns to publically dissociate himself from this humungous scandal or keeps his mouth sealed. He has chosen the latter option hoping that in the meantime Mizzi, Schembri and hopefully even Muscat disappear from the political scene.
