The Lava Jata,’Carwash’ inquiry is about how millions of dollars were diverted to finance the Brazilian Labour Party of then President Lula, and close associates.

Swiss and Panamian banks were used in the process. Brazil’s current President, Djilma Rouuseff, was president of Petrobras at the time. Lula had handpicked her for that position, and also as his successor as leader of the Partito Trabahlista (Labour).
