You have made a lot of relevant points. We often get stereotyped and not in a good way.I grew up always looking after others and I always look out for those who cannot look after themselves.

I cannot stand bullies, although I have learnt that, at times, they are as much the victim as those they bully. But for the very same reason I cannot stand them as they would do to others what they would not want to be done to themselves.

Somehow, being a quiet and reserved type seems to rub certain people the wrong way. There are loudmouths like Joseph Muscat who talk a good fight but will hide at the first sign of trouble leaving others to take the fall.

Then there are those like Simon Busuttil who radiate a sort of strength that comes from conviction of being in the right and can talk with such frankness as it comes from the heart. He took on a monumental task and never shirked.

The constant attacks make him stronger and not weaker. You see him grow from strength to strength.

When I see this story unfolding before my very eyes, Gonzi’s words keep coming every time: “WITH A NATIONAL GOVERNMENT YOU FEEL PROUD OF BEING MALTESE, BUT WITH A LABOUR GOVERNMENT YOU HIDE IN SHAME WHEN THEY FIND OUT THAT YOU’RE MALTESE.”

I believe, but stand to be corrected, that there's a Labour core out there who actually want and need a corrupt leader and party because they need corruption, petty or big, for any thing that ranges between food on their plate and yachts, power and sex. It is the voters who make the party.

After 16 years of oppressive Mintoffian rule, followed by 25 years in Opposition, some might have expected the new, squeaky clean Labour government, with its outstanding election campaign, to have shed its disconcerting past and start afresh.

Instead, and in only three years, we’ve had nothing but nepotism, cronyism and full scale corruption of the grandest degree, combined with a total lack of transparency and meritocracy.

It is Muscat who’s mainly to blame for this dire mess we’re in. His obsession with money will be his downfall. Will the Labour Party EVER be re-elected?
