Anybody who knows Franco Debono knows he has a huge fixation with Louis Galea. Debono has spent eight years now, since the election of 2008, telling anyone who will listen that he’s better than Louis Galea because he beat him in the 2008 election (by all of 274 votes which, in our system, were enough to elect a crackpot to Parliament).

For anyone who has ever spent more than five minutes in conversation with him, it is obvious that “messhom bagħtu lili” means he actually believes he would be better than Louis Galea at the European Court of Auditors and, of course, infinitely better than Toni Abela.

Well it could work out. If they send this and he takes out his Form 2C midyear results from 30 years ago they may actually want to give Toni Abela another go.

It is so clear that the pecunary aspect is the sole consideration of whoever is taking or already took the post in the past.

It’s like winning a huge lottery of circa two million euros over seven years as a golden hand shake after your political career which has come to a close.
