It’s not about “unclassy”. It’s about ineptitude. She has had all the time in the world to learn how to speak properly, and she hasn’t bothered because dresses are more important in her world.

There are people born and raised in Iraq who speak perfect English after a few years in England, and Mrs Muscat can’t manage it. The way people use language is, in Malta, not considered an area for improvement – just as with any kind of manners.
