I cannot understand how anyone ever thought he’d resign because of anything. The man’s got
rhino skin. I mean he’s been hounded with harsh criticism about his wife’s salary for three years and he’s such a morto di fame that he stuck it out.

Unless I’m mistaken, when Godfrey Farrugia was made minister, Marlene Farrugia joined his staff – no idea whether she was remunerated or not – whichever way, when she read the public’s mood on that move, she immediately left. But not KonRat and certainly not after all the hassle he’s been through to buy that secret company, not on your life.

Didn’t even THINK of offering his resignation. Offer it to whom? They’re partners.

I’m still wondering – who’s holding the cheque he was going to deposit after his Dubai and/or Panama account/s were opened?

I agree. Except that they’ll end up suing him for being that specific, in one of their usual displays of democracy.

That’s not ‘senserija’ (brokerage). That’s graft. Konrad Mizzi does not broker those deals. He is not the middleman who brings the parties together. He is a party and signatory to them.

I agree that he will not be going anywhere. We know that Brian Tonna had bought about 200 companies in 2013. I bet he made it a point to sell a couple of them to someone close to the PN.

It’s the way these people work so that if they are caught they can quickly use the ‘tu quoque’ strategy. If Brian Tonna knows, Muscat and Keith Schembri would know as well who these are.

That is why Joseph Muscat worked well with Manuel Mallia before the election of 2013. The ‘old’ oil scandal is proof of how they work.

The prime minister was reported as saying ‘L-ewwel irridu naraw x’se jigri f’Mejju ukoll’. I say he will try to wait it out till then. Events may prove me wrong but I think they will be trying just the same.
