DECENT CHAPS? For God’s sake. Lino Spiteri was a cabinet minister in the worst of the dark years of Mintoff and Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici, and any last thought that Abela may have been a decent chap was dispelled when he read out, to order, that utterly disgusting speech on the opening of parliament in 2013. He should have refused to read it or stepped down rather than read it. And then we had his awful son Robert, taking to the podium at a Labour mass meeting to shout insults at the man who made his father president and GAVE HIM AND HIS LAW FIRM THE MEPA CONSULTANCY RETAINER FOR YEARS, WHICH CONTINUES TO MILK TO THIS DAY.
