In reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia. I am very tepted to return your compliments to my comments but I will not. I have read CBs and interviewed persons but the suitableness for a pist is not simply made of education, experience, character, stability and so on. One must assess vision and approach particularly in the highest level posts especially when choosing between two equivalent candidates. But you are right, the choice between an evidently suitable candidate and an evidently untrustworthy one should be and is easier.

No. The purpose of an interview is to assess whether you think the person is normal, stable, of good character, and has good manners. You know about the rest ahead of that through reading a CV – but that does not come into play in a general election because at that stage the options for prime minister are two and whether you choose one or not, one will be forced on you. So you have to assess the character and nothing else.
