You have got to distinguish between corrupt politicians (i.e. individuals) and an intrinsically corrupt party that is organised for corruption.

The Nationalist Party has had corrupt politicians – and interestingly, they have all moved en masse to Labour or just been removed. But the Labour Party is organised, leadership and all, as a corruption machine.

Animals in zoos suffer very high levels of stress and anxiety: from being cooped up in routine boredom and watched all the time. Maltese people suffer stress and anxiety from exactly the same causes, except that they’re not aware of the reasons. Malta is as crowded as a metropolis, considering the land area – but in a metropolis you have anonymity, privacy, freedom, different things to do, and you can drive out of it.
