I fully endorse your last line. Primarily, this is the Labour Party’s internal problem. If it can be resolved by convincing the triad and their entourage to call it a day, then so be it. Labour will remain in power for the whole five years. But that is a very unlikely scenario.

The most likely alternative is that PL will split up into two factions. Whether that will be reflected in parliament with two distinct parties or two factions within the parliamentary group remains to be seen. Furthermore, and in both cases, whether they can hold on to power and administer properly everyday government issues is also a big question mark. As a side note on this, I interpreted Owen Bonnici’s remarks about Konrad Mizzi’s being politically naive as dangerous threading between these two factions.

Whatever the case it is a huge internal problem with, unless resolved, possible serious consequences for Malta.

If it is not resolved immediately, then it’s election time.

Muscat leads no-one in the party and barely anyone in cabinet. Thank goodness for positions of trust then.

Never was this place as lost to who’s in charge, at least not since Mintoff’s instructions to the Libyan officers manning our gunboats were ignored outright.

The members of the cabinet who do not stand up and say ‘enough of this’ are corrupt by association. I have even lost faith in Godfrey Farrugia, the party whip, who I used to regard as an honest man. I do that no more.

Malta Taghna Lkoll has turned out to be the battle-cry of evil and corruption, led by that corrupt, amoral, liar Joseph Muscat.

Konrad Mizzi has no cheques. Someone else who already has a secret account and is trusted is holding his money.

I agree with everything you say, but I also think that this event is not going to lose Muscat that many votes, nor will the PN gain much from it all.

He probably has a cheque or an IOU which is practically worthless now.

Mizzi actually stated Mossack Fonseca tried to open a bank account in Dubai behind his back.

Do they realise the extent of what is in those folders? Emails, correspondence and every form filled and signed, edited, reviewed by the paper’s legal team and again cross checked with Teutonic obsession for precision and accuracy.

When the PES condemns the cultural deficit, Muscat may be facing more than just-in-Malta disgust. This thing is huge and specifically geo-strategic.

Now that every contract signed by Mizzi could well not be in the EU’s interest, isn’t it time to remember why the EU’s is also our interest?

The PN must not play Muscat’s us and them.
