No sign of Vladimir Putin either. He was not mentioned once in any one of the 11.5 million financial records leaked.

He does not own a single company, bank account or trust in these disreputable tax-haven. However, the international press is in no doubt that Putin is the most corrupt of all the leaders exposed. This is because his closest aides are up to their noses in muck.

No sane person will believe that any leader would allow his underlings to be involved in all this wrongdoing, without summarily dismissing them from office and hounding them by all legal means available, unless he is the major ultimate beneficiary.

Yes, that’s when I realised the inner coterie – Cardona, Bonnici, Muscat, Mizzi and Schembri – must have had a pretty good idea of what was happening and how it was all about to blow up in their faces. Brian Tonna/Mossack Fonseca would have alerted them.
