Then the road map was faulty. Schembri could still have directed the corrupt financial mega-operations without being officially the Prime Minister’s right hand man.

He could have acted as frontman with companies in Panama and trusts in New Zealand without having to be the chef de cabinet of an EU head of government.

This is my point. The front man should have been a political non-entity like Putin’s cellist. What about Joseph Chetcuti?

And when you think about the whole situation serenely, is it another coincidence that both Konrad’s and Keith’s Panama Companies have no money in them. They opened them together and kumbinazzjoni both of them have no money to invest in them (yet). They bought them just for kicks to be like the Smith’s and Jones’s.

I don’t know how this will end up for Keith Schembri but he has was very close his cousin Ryan
Schembri who is still on the run and whose fraud stratagem has worked well enough to allow him escape with hidden millions somewhere.

He must have learnt a trick or two how to manouvre through tax havens but his ways have now been discovered and his advice has been disastrous for his buddies too. I believe that collecting brokerage fees is going to be quite a puzzle from now on.

What a dirty lot.

It’s good and proper that we now rationalise all that has been revealed, the Triad’s reactions thereof, their threats of libel, stupid negations and anodyne counter attacks.

In my opinion, the media and commentators are missing a very important point which we had raised but then let go again, mainly I think, because of the massive information overload. I am referring to the two dots that we need to add to and join with the overall picture as it is now, and these are:
1. The removal by Muscat’s government of the requirement to include the spouses’ assets in the MP’s and ministers’ annual declaration of assets from the Parliamentary code of ethics, and
2. The fact that the nominated beneficiaries of Korrot Mizzi’s New Zealand trust are his legal spouse and their children. Thus, this trust and whatever assets it holds or would hold, would not have to be declared by the minster because the beneficiary is his wife, not himself.
On the other hand, Keith CashCow, who is NOT an MP or minister, is not required to declare any of his assets, hence he nominated himself as the beneficiary of the New Zealand trust.

Turns out it was a much wiser move than just that. The whole Panama affair is closing in on Konrad Mizzi much, much more than on Keith Schembri, to the point where the latter is almost “forgotten”.

Perhaps he’s just silently getting his ship in order while attention is focused elsewhere, so that when it’s his turn, everything is a more-or-less acceptable level of clean.
