If Konrad Mizzi is renting out a house in London, he should pay tax on the rent to HMRC there, and as a Maltese resident declare it also in Malta IRD tax return and benefit from double taxation relief. As simple as that. No need for a trust unless he wants to hide this income.

In reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia. He seems to have known the notorious Mountbatten much before he got to know his wife. Someone powerful must have given his early career quite a push. And from the way he treated his wife, I don't think he conducted long conversations with her.

Well, to be quite frank, his constant emphasis on that London house caused my antennae to come up right from the outset of this story on 22 February. It’s been at the forefront of my mind all along that Aliyev might have paid him a backhander in the form of some real estate in London.

Mizzi has Aspergers Syndrome and individuals with that condition are a PR risk because they tend to blurt out awkward things. Something tells me that there is truth in what he says about his London house, but that it’s simply not the London house we think it is.

We were promised a cabinet of excellence and now we are told by Minister Owen Bonnici that the super minister of this cabinet of excellence is politically naive. Was he politically naive as well when before the general elections he presented us with a “student” power point presentation of how he can build a power station in two years?

I am tempted to believe now, with hindsight, that all those promises and presentations during the election campaign were all part of a pre-determined plan. No, I do not believe that he is politically naive. If he is politically naive, what about the Prime Minister? Is he politically naive as well not to realise all the harm this has done and is still doing to us as a nation?

No, they are not politically naive. It just never crossed their mind that they would never be caught, and after such a short time. There is no other place for them except….BARRA!
