He nominates people who are not fit for the job. A case in point is the European Commissioner Karmenu Vella. Muscat got away with Vella’s nomination because Jean-Claude Juncker needed Muscat’s vote.

We all know why Muscat nominated Toni Abela for the European Court of Auditors. He wanted to clear the way for Konrad Mizzi to become party deputy leader.

But the European Budgetary Committee realised that Toni Abela was not fit for purpose and they rejected him.

Instead of finding someone better than Toni Abela, Joseph Muscat has nominated Leo Brincat for the post. Will Leo Brincat pass the grilling?
