I have lived here rather longer than you have, and actually am Maltese (which means that I am not ‘locked out’ and shown only one side of society), and yes, a good half of Maltese people are immoral, amoral and/or corrupt. Probably more, actually. This has nothing to do with politics. It is, in fact, one of the first things newcomers to Malta notice: that value standards here are different, that people reason like children, and that adults have the conversation of teenagers.

Objective reasoning has NOTHING to do with achieving an objective. That is goal-oriented reasoning. Objective reasoning is reasoning which is based on facts and not distorted by personal bias. Reasoning distorted by personal bias is subjective reasoning.

In reply to A Caffari. Good and bad do NOT come into play with objective reasoning. An example: you and a friend are set upon by a mugger armed with a knife. The mugger gets hold of your friend. Objective reasoning tells you to run off while he is busy with his victim. Morality and basic decency tell you to stay and help your friend.
