2. Hamalli are not current. They are permanent. In June 1919 they were on the rampage setting fire to mills and ransacking private homes. In 1979 they set fire to Opposition party clubs and the offices of an independent newspaper (with the staff inside). At various points in the 1980s they ransacked the Courts of Justice, the Archbishop’s HQ and shops and businesses in Valletta. And now they are setting fire to the country.
