Whilst not being particularly partisan politically, I have always voted according to my conscience for the party I felt was the better for the country over all.

Therefore, for the last 50 years I have had no hesitation whatsoever in voting for the Nationalist Party and I have never asked for one single “favour” of any politician.

If everyone had done his duty when voting day arrived without looking first for his own personal interests, Malta today might have been a wonderful place to live in rather than the corrupt and disgraceful state we now find ourselves in.

I saw through Joseph Muscat from the very first day he started to spout his nonsense about ‘il-muviment.’ I said to everyone I knew to watch out ‘because this guy is trouble.’ Of course, to Muscat’s credit and their undying shame, many disbelieved me.

Of course it is not like they weren’t warned. They were told by the Nationalist government not to vote for these people. Supporters of the Nationalists (and AD to an extent) told them not to trust Labour for all sorts of reasons.

Mind you, a part of me doesn’t blame them. The Labour Party were very convincing in many ways. However, while no one could have known for sure that all this corruption would take place, everyone could see how Muscat reacted to questions, how he stonewalled people left right and centre and how he treated the press.

So while they may be able to claim that ‘they didn’t know’ about the corruption (let’s give them the benefit of the doubt) they were well aware of everything else because it was there for everyone to see.
