Identity Malta will claim that due to data protection it cannot divulge the names of the people who have bought passports. This has been a craft and carefully thought out process right from the start.

I continue to be amazed how people in high positions seem to lack a basic sense of self-respect and professional propriety. This is a rot plaguing many institutions in this country.

mark my words!! next election will be rigged and they will invent ways and means to ensure a RIGGED majority – I suppose even people in Peking will be allowed to vote in our elections. Panama has taught us quite a lot

In my humble opinion I think that the Electoral Commission has the right and duty to strike off these people from the register. I just cannot undersatand why these things should go to court.

The Malta Independent has published email correspondence clearly showing that Commissioner Joe Church knew about the cases because staff had flagged a number of applications as far back as November last year, and yet they appeared in the list of voters anyway.

But one sure starts to clearly smell the rot when one reads:

”Asked who would shoulder responsibility for the granting of voting rights to applicants who did not qualify, he said that was not necessary because immediate action had been taken in the wake of the PN’s complaints. Mr Church pointed out that the commission had actually assisted the audit carried out by Elcom.”

In my experience when anyone in authority/management finds out that one of his/her departments allowed or gave an unlawful benefit, the person in charge looked at the process (1) in order to stop this happening again, (2) make sure that the error did not arise through some sort of shady motivation, (3) make the necessary changes and (4) formulate a spot checking process to keep the issue in check.

Yet the reasoning here, as far as we are told is, ”We were caught, we reversed those cases which were caught, so we do not need to find out who/how/why.”

What sort of logic and management is this?
