Two reasons. 1. It’s a fund raising event for the same people who did the CHOGM. 2. It’s a good way to distract people and to get themselves out of the lime light.

The spending spree has already commenced. The spend to send the singer to the contest is substantially higher than in the past. The official response is that this spent is in partnership with the private sector with one major sponsor being Gasan.

In reply to Nerik Micallef. If Azerbaijan gives Malta the 12 points, the fuel prices in Malta will have to go up again. Russia might give us the 12 points too, in their case I don't know what might change
