Whatever this government touches seems to end up being sucked into this quicksand of criminality and corruption.

I never had any trust whatsoever in any of HSBC’s operations. It does not have any trust to shake. It has none – the world over. In fact HSBC is synonymous with money laundering.

HSBC has the resources to take the government to the cleaners if it tried such tactics.

If Schembri, Tonna and Cini sue, then HSBC will be called to the witness stand and will have to speak under oath. They cannot avoid the questions there.

The bank’s statement is not reassuring at all. On the contrary, it shakes trust in its operations.

They either want to cover their own malpractice, or else prepare evidence for an airtight case which will come crashing down on those guilty with severity that has seldom been seen in a legal system.

Forging a bank document is not something anyone takes lightly, apart from the people doing the actual forging, apparently.

Depending on whether someone is publicly outed as the insider/criminal or not, we’ll know whether HSBC is rife with corruption or on the straight and narrow. This saga keeps getting better by the day, all that we are missing are drugs, guns, women and murders.

When people respond like that, Victor, it is almost always because they have direct vested interests. That is my experience. If you were to tell me what this “intelligent and successful man’s” name is, I will probably be able to tell you what those vested interests are.

In situations such as these, it is not the “successful” people or the big names you need to speak to, as those are the ones most guaranteed to be vested in the power structure. It is ordinary people. We all have the same vote, after all.
