So you have to accept that.

But the fact remains that Muscat has lost what he likes to call the ‘mow-rill highground’. The effect of his behaviour and that of his closest collaborators has been perfectly devastating on some key demographics which gave him his huge majority in 2013.

The first clue was when, as early as two years ago, they stopped boasting that they had voted Labour. Then, slowly, they began pretending that they hadn’t voted Labour at all or making excuses about how they had been conned or how they felt they had to do it because of the Nationalists-this-and-that.

And now they are speaking openly about how shocked they are and how disgraceful it all is.
