The first news items coming out of the Maltese newspapers’ access to the Panama Papers this morning. One of them is the transfer of €750,000 to the British Virgin Islands by Keith Schembri who was supposedly “no longer in business” in 2013 and whose Maltese companies appear bankrupt.

And there’s also a damning e-mail proving his intention and that of Konrad Mizzi, not to inform the Maltese banks about their corrupt business. They should resign and hand themselves in at the nearest police station.

This is very good news and should upgrade the Maltese media’s access to important information which would otherwise remain hidden.
