Malta’s institutions are under threat because of men of straw. The Prime Minister has no more power to stop an investigation than I have to start one.

Mintoff had more power (he refused to appoint a Central Bank Governor or form a Constitutional court for some time, and id so with impunity). This Prime Minister has less leeway. The only leeway he has is the people he appoints.

We need to start pressuring these people to take action and to continue hounding those who did not.

There are so many complex deals that this group entered into that none of them can afford an outside pair of prying eyes.

The whole edifice would crumble. On the more important questions I believe no one will get any answers on the Sadeen school.

On Eectrogas, it appears that the European Commission is taking an awful long time to examine a relatively simple deal. Why? Is it German influence on behalf of Siemens and KfW?

Why did the European Investment Bank shrug off the deal with scant comment? Is it because it did not want to be eventually likewise pressured?

How can a prime minister defend such blatant tax evasion schemes? Shouldn’t he see that all tax due is paid? And where is that almost incoherent Edward Scicluna?
